They can make some chairs from skis but the intriguing part about this initiative is that they'd repurpose and reuse the materials for more skis (which are getting built anyway). Thanks for reading.

Repurposing skis is the holy grail? Ski chairs and shot-skis alone could easily consume all discarded skis.

Thanks for your recent article in High Country News, Serendipity in the Desert. Living in the San Bernardino Mountains, bordered by 20 million So Californians, who at times seem to love our wilderness to death, the ATV use is clearly out of control. The USFS does not have the human resources to manage the off road "enthusiasts" effectively.
I have followed this Kane County madness for some time, and enjoyed the solitude and beauty that the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument has to offer, both on foot and bicycle.

SUWA clearly is doing its best to keep people informed and preserving Utah wilderness. Thanks for your part and an excellent story !

[...] The daily perusal of a major newspaper was required reading for the Politics of Human Rights course I took my freshman year (which began September 13, 2001.) That there were several more options in 2001 than there are now speaks volumes about the decline of print media in the intervening years, something others have put more eloquently here and here.
I love this piece, Josh. Your self-deprecation is delicious and urges me on to read the next line. So glad you have not changed, despite the eco-journalist groupies and all.
